He also completed the Junior and Senior Staff Courses at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC) in Jaji in November 2001 and July 2006, respectively. In August 2014, he participated in the National Defence College (NDC) Course 22, where he was awarded the Fellowship of the Defence College (fdc). As part of the NDC program, he pursued an MSc in Strategic Studies at the University of Ibadan from 2014 to 2015.
Throughout his career, Rear Admiral Ogalla has served on various naval vessels, including NNS AMBE, ARADU, LANA, EKUN, AGU, QUORRA, BEECROFT, DELTA, and PATHFINDER. Notably, he participated in the ECOMOG Operations in Liberia in 1996 while serving on board NNS EKUN. As the Base Operations Officer in NNS PATHFINDER, he effectively coordinated anti-illegal bunkering operations and played a crucial role in enhancing security within the base's area of operations, resulting in a significant reduction in illegal activities in the maritime domain.
His expertise and knowledge have also been utilized in various instructional and leadership roles. He has served as an instructor, Commandant of the Nigerian Navy Hydrographic School (NNHS), Survey Officer at the Nigerian Naval Hydrographic Office (NNHO), Deputy Director of Instruments at the NNHO, Deputy Director of Hydrography and Director of Policy and Research at the NNHO. Additionally, he has held positions such as Directing Staff and Deputy Assistant Director at the National Defence College (NDC) and Director of Audit at the National Assembly (NASS) Naval Headquarters (NHQ). Currently, he serves as the Director of Logistics at Naval Headquarters (NHQ).
